Those who experience discomfort or pain from pressure points (usually when a part of your body is strained or pinched from carrying too much weight) will often benefit from switching to a softer mattress. Side sleepers who sleep on very firm mattresses often trap their arms and shoulders between their body and the mattress. One of our thicker 10” mattresses may help with this. Although softer, these mattresses are still considered “medium firm.” They have been tested for good spinal alignment, in case you are worried that the mattress will be too soft.
Those who have back pain due to poor spinal alignment (usually when a mattress is too soft and starts to sag at the hips) will often benefit from a mattress that offers more support. One of our hybrid spring mattresses is best. The problem is more common in people who are heavier or older (and may have weak back muscles), or those who have simply slept on very old, misshapen mattresses for too long. They will benefit greatly from any of our Hybrid pocket spring mattresses, although the Hybrid Premium has a little more added value with a thicker comfort layer and micro springs to help prevent the aforementioned pressure point problems.
This depends on your body type, your sleeping position, and the type of pain you experience. Unfortunately, we can’t solve every situation, but we can give you some guidelines.

All of our mattresses are designed to perfectly align your spine, no matter what your body type. We do this primarily through body zones in the mattress that sink differently depending on the part they support, whether it’s an all-foam or hybrid spring mattress. For example, if you press on the shoulder zones, they will sink more than the lower back zone. In essence, it follows the shape of your spine.
If you’re concerned about overall support, we recommend opting for a hybrid spring mattress. Steel springs tend to be more durable and can generally support more weight than even the most resilient foam. Their greater resilience also provides a smoother feel, making it easier to turn over or stand up.
